I am currently just past the halfway point in the Doctor of Strategic Communication (DSC) program at Regent University.

Background and Previous Experience: A native of Kansas City, Missouri, I began a life of travel that included several years in countries overseas as well as to several of the United States in between. After high school graduation and one semester in college, my dream of traveling to France was realized. I lived and worked in Chateauroux for about two years before moving on to Wiesbaden, Germany, and Livorno, Italy, where I met my husband, a native of Toledo, Ohio. We returned to the US within a few months of each other and traveled from St. Louis, MO to Los Angeles, California where we married. We moved to Sacramento after a few years where our three children were born. During that time I attended city college and worked as a legal secretary/paralegal assistant.

When our oldest child turned 5, I joined the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State which led to a 26-year career, 9 of which I served as an Administrative Assistant, and the remainder after specialized training as a Financial Management Officer. 

My family accompanied me to several posts during that period, including the capitals of Russia, Curacao, Germany, Washington, D.C., South Africa, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, and finally, Charleston, S.C. Temporary duty assignments and travel to conferences took me to several other countries for periods of one week to one month: Algeria, Syria, Philippines, Viet Nam, Egypt, the UK, Germany, Yemen, Qatar, and Switzerland.
